Hand of God(Matthew 28:19–20 KJV) “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

As a Christian and a minister, it is extremely easy to get distracted from what we have been emphatically told to do.  Our instructions are clear.  We have been commanded to make disciples and teach them to live according to the Word.

America is desperate for the Truth.  While not everyone knows they need the Truth, the Truth is the only thing that can make a real and lasting difference in a persons life (John 8:32).

Is. 60:2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

1Chr. 12:32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.

For many years I have been watching the Body of Christ go through changes in its attempt to be relevant to each emerging younger culture group.  I don’t know of a pastor that has not been thinking about how to better reach people as our society becomes more Godless.

God blessed Abram. What that blessing was and what it was for is the issue. Every one will agree that God blessed Abram as it is plainly stated in Genesis chapter twelve.

Since the body of Christ gained the understanding of sowing and reaping, there has been a frenzy of teaching focused on the receiving side of the equation to the exclusion of the purpose side. I can’t count the times I heard Brother Hagin say, “Stay in the middle of the road.”

“And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’S: it is holy unto the LORD. And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. And concerning the tithe of the herd, or of the flock, even of whatsoever passeth under the rod, the tenth shall be holy unto the LORD.

You and I minister in precarious places in an unusual time. We live in a country where eighty percent claim Christianity, and yet, the rate of moral decline in our country is dramatic. In one of Dr. Lester Sumrall’s books, he explains how in the 1950’s God sent him back to the United States from the Philippines. Dr. Sumrall did not want to go back and the Lord told him he had to because, “America is going down faster than any nation in history.”

A very familiar verse to us is James chapter one verse five:

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

I believe one of the most overlooked aspects of the tithe is the principle of exchange that dwells within the tithe. Very little is said about it yet it is fundamental to a proper relationship in tithing.

The tithe is not a “covenant specific” law or principle. Failure to understand this has caused a lot of confusion in interpreting the scriptures concerning tithing. I have traveled much of the World and I find it interesting that the errors concerning tithing are the same everywhere.

Luke 4:14-15 – And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

I’m always looking for the Bible pattern – the Bible way of doing things. The church is engulfed within the American culture and is by and large operating according to what that culture will, or will not, allow. The Bible pattern is still the right pattern. God is a God of order and He works within that order. The patterns in the Bible show us His order.
